VacuFlush toilets are easy to use.
- Lift pedal or handle to add water to bowl. Generally, water
is added when flushing solids.
- Push pedal or handle down to flush. Hold pedal down for three
seconds to assure thorough flush (less water can be used
when flushing only liquids). For electronic Flush
and Forget®* toilets, the flush ball automatically
stays open for three seconds.
- Release flush pedal, allowing it to snap back into proper position.
Bowl refills for next flush.

Use only rapid-dissolving tissue.
VacuFlush systems are designed
to handle effluent and rapid-dissolving toilet tissue. Non-dissolving
items such as feminine hygiene products, paper towels, facial tissue, some
household toilet tissues* and other paper products may cause
plugs.
If
leaving the boat for an extended time…
Sanitation discharge
lines should be cleared if the boat will be sitting idle for an
extended period of time, and at least once a month if it is regularly
used. Here’s how:
- Fill toilet bowl with water.
- Add ½ cup of liquid laundry detergent.
- Flush toilet, allowing water to flow for about 2 minutes. Close
flush ball.
- Completely pump out holding tank.
Cleaning the toilet and bowl seal SeaLand® vitreous china toilets should be cleaned regularly
for maximum sanitation and operational efficiency. Clean it just
as you would a household toilet. Do not use caustic chemicals,
such as drain-opening types, as they will damage the seals. |

BOWL CLEANING: For stubborn stains, use SeaLand
Bowl and Seal Cleaner (Fig. A). It’s manufactured
especially for use with all Dometic toilet brands. In certain locations
where water is hard, a buildup of lime may dull the toilet bowl
finish. Restore the shine with this SeaLand cleaner. If you cannot
find it in your area, contact Dometic for your nearest dealer.
It is not necessary to scrub vigorously. Please
follow label instructions.

SEAL CLEANING: After an extended time, mineral
deposits from hard water can build up under the edge of the rubber
bowl seal, resulting in a slow leakdown of water from the bowl.
To prevent this mineral buildup, periodically clean under the bowl
seal with SeaLand Bowl and Seal Cleaner (Fig.
B). |

Winterizing the sanitation system
At the end of each season, the toilet and sanitation system should
be winterized for storage by either draining or using potable water-safe
antifreeze. To drain: |
- Thoroughly flush system with fresh water.
- Empty holding tank.
- Shut off water supply to toilet(s), and remove inlet waterline
(Fig. C). Do not remove brass cap on bottom of valve.
- Press flush lever until all water is drained from toilet(s).

To use antifreeze:
- Drain potable water tank.
- Add freshwater antifreeze to potable water tank.
- Flush potable water antifreeze and water mixture through toilet(s)
and into the waste holding tank. Each installation
is different, so amounts may vary. User discretion is required
to assure adequate protection.
- Empty holding tank.
NOTE: Use nontoxic antifreeze designated for
potable water systems. (See vehicle owner’s manual.)
CAUTION: Never use automotive-type antifreeze
in freshwater systems.
